Synopsis :

                He was fourteen, he left the school at the age of fourteen. After he left his school, he try to find a job in his town. He want a job in a mill like the boy in his age, but his parent are difficult, his parent want him work in locomotive shed. But it is so difficult if we don’t have friend there. His parent said to him that work in locomotives shed was a better job.

                Alf agar was his neigborh, he worked on the railway line. He was not important man but he knew Tom Petty, tom petty knew well mr bidwell. Mr Bidwell was important man in locomotives shed. Alf Agar teached him how to act in front of Mr Bidwell. Alf told him about what Mr Bidwell’s likes and dislikes. Everyday he learned about its. He learned on everywhere.

                When the day came, he met Tom Petty in his office. Tom petty brought him to Mr Bidwell room. In the first meeting, he forgot all thing he have been learned with Alf Agar, but he was not frightened to face Mr Bidwell. he talked to Mr Bidwell like his real act and behaviour. Mr Bidwell  was ignored him at the time.

                Tommorow morning, Alf agr came to his house and brought a good news to him. Mr Bidwell like him because he was honest boy and he spoke the truth. Finally, he worked at locomotive shed with Mr Bidwell.

My Opinion :

                This story use simple present tense, it make me easy to catch the mean. In other hand, the story is very simple and short. The story use some characters to support main character. By the way, i can get some moral value, such as :

                I love this story because the story teach us how to be a honest people. Become a honest person is more important than everything else like Mr Bidwell said in the story. We should act like who we are and forget about want to be somebody else to make someone like us. It is the worst! If someone love us because who we are, it mean they love all of us.

                In other hand, we should respect to older person. When we talk to older person we should respect and be humble. It is because we have different social context when we talk to person in our age.

Synopsis :

                On Saturday afternoon, his friends and billy went to fishing spot. They walked beside Mrs Hoskey’s house. Suddenly, Mrs hoskey shouted them and asked to one of them to bought a something in shopping list. No one of them   become volunteer. Mrs Hoskey asked billy and promised billy with money. Billy agreed and went to market. When he got Mrs  hoskey’s home, Mrs Hoskey give him bread and jam but not money like her promised. Billy took the bread and put into his pocket.

                Billy went to the river and meet his friends. They were fishing there. A few minutes later, his friend suggested them to go to the mill to catch the carp. Arrived in the mill, the found fishing spot and they saw Mr Pratt there. Mr Pratt was fishing untill ten hour today, but he can’t catched anything. He looks very frustrated. Billy started to fishing, he used the bread from Mrs Hoskey as the bait. In short time, billy caatched his first carp, his friends was very suprised. Billy catched much carp and he gave to his friends too. After they are fishing, they got back to their house, but suddenly in the street they look ambulance car in front of Billy’s house. Her mother shouted to him and the police officer asked to billy. Billy was very confused and he did’t know what was going on.

                His mother and billy are getting in the ambulance, his mother told him about the bread from Mrs Hoskey. His mother was very frightened and billy also very frightened too. Her mother told billy if the bread and jam from Mrs Hoskey was very poisonous. Billy was very shock to heard that.

My Opinion :

                This story tell me about “how we follow the instruction from the expert.” I say like that base on Mr Hoskey. Do you remember what he say to his wife? Mr Hoskey said to his wife don’t give the bread and jam to billy because the bread still not cook properly, but his wife, Mrs Hoskey give the bread and jam to billy. She didn’t listen to her husband. At the end of story, we know that the billy still alive because he didn’t eat the bread and jam but he used the bread as a bait to catch the carp. You know what? The carp was  dying because of the bread.

                In this story, we can make the conclusion that we should follow the instruction or step to make our life safely and we should talk about the truth to people. I hate billy because he a liar.

Synopsis :

                Sim Dalt had long arms and long, thin legs. He was a good goalkeeper, but he was not good student at school. When he was child, he played football with his mom. He always playes as goalkeeper.

                He played football after he got back from school, he was very talented player at school. It made him choose as a goalkeeper of school team. He loved football so much but he didn’t like school. When he played football for his school, he played very well, no one can scored an easy goal. During in the school, he gave the cup to his school.

                One day, the inspector came to his school, the inspector said to sim to go to another school. It was because sim not a good student. The School Footbal captain, bob throper very arrogant, he shouted sim and threw him to another school. Sim was very angry.

                After the following years, sim worked in Amusement arcade. He played as goalkeeper  there. During worked in there, Sim very famous because his talented as a goalkeeper. Everyone in the town talked about him. He can got much money because of his job. After 6 years in there, sim bought the Arcade from the last owner, maggie.

                One day, bob thropper come to his arcade and chalengge sim in penalty kick out. Sim won the game and he was more famous at the time. After that, he was made a director of the football club in his town where bob played for him.

My Opinion :

                This story full of moral value. I can catch some of them. In this story tell me how we behave to people. As human we should not to be arrogant like Bob Thropper. We know if we are arrogant to someone, one time we will feel what we do in past. It happen when Bob threw out Sim from School Team because Sim is not a good student. It make sim very angry and try to revenge bob one time. It come true when Sim become a important man in Town. In other hand, i hate Sim. Because his act to revenge bob. I think if we are a good person, we should accept apologize from the others and try to forget all thing in past. We should not try to revenge!

Synopsis of Seventeen Oranges

Synopsis :

                He is not a thief, but he took something like bananas and oranges from docks. He usually use apron to hide something. When he went to dock, he usually drove a little cart to brought something from docks.

                One day, the police man catched him and arrested him. It happen because he stole seventeen oranges. The police counted and placed the oranges carefully. When the police ask him, he kept quiet and try to not say anything. The police man very angrily and he made decision to call another police and locked him in the room with seventeen oranges.

                He was very frightened because of this. He scared when he go to prison because of its. Suddenly, he got idea. He ate all oranges to clean the evidence, because he knew, no evidence no punishment. He ate all oranges quickly. He ate all of orange like pip too. When the police came with his partner, they saw no evidence. They was very confused. Because of no evidence, police officer  had to let him go.

My Opinion :

                 This story is very funny and easy to understand. this story use a simple sentence and use daily word, it make me very easy to catch its. By the way, i love this one.

                This story tell us about the boy who steal someyhing from the dock and try to lie about what the truth. It is not good for us, if we steal something and be a liar, we will get a revenge from god ot from the others. In this world, we should act based truth and keep our mouth to say the truth. If we become a honest people, we will get pay back from god and so on. In other hand, stealing is bad behaviour. If we steal something and someone know about that and he tell this to police officer, we will get trouble and maybe we can in the prison.

Synopsis :

                The River Oster has polluted because of the Chemical factories. The river pollution made plants and fish killed. Professor Hamilton, Dr Andrew Scott and Jo work together in the laboratory at Oster Valley University. They try to create a new compound to heal the the river.

                One day, Professor Hamilton as a leader in the laboratory should go to zurich, she leaves Andrew and Jo. Time is running out, the river still polluted. Andrew can’t control himself to work harder and harder. He comes to laboratory at the midnight and he works harder to find new compound without Professor hamilton help. He works more than 30 hours. He feels he works with Professor Hamilton, they both try to make a new compuond for the river. Finally, the success to make a compound. Professor Hamilton ask andrew to go home after that.

                In the same day, the accident happen near the airport. The car crushed a van. The victim was Professor Hamilton.

                The next day, andrew very happy because they made a compound. He said it to Jo, but Jo feel andrew was getting crazy because he said he works with Professor eventhough Jo knows the professor was died.

My Opinion :

                This story is very interesting. Honestly i love this story!

                This story use a simple vocabulary, so i can understand all of the messages in this story. This book use for beginner. As a stundent, this story can make me increase our knowledge about structure. The sentence in the book is not very long but the sentence use a good grammar or method, so it easy to understand. The book use past simple and past continous tense. The book says “Past Simple and past continous Tenses usually used in narration and student must become familiar with it as these continue to extend and develop their reading skill.

                In other hand, this book tell us about “hard word”. As a student we should follow this principe. We should work harder, harder, and harder until we catch our dream.
